Our Style
My wife and I lived in Italy for many years and when we returned I became a contractor for over 40 years and would often make rustic and European doors for my customers. Our niche is reclaimed lumber but we have also expanded into alder/mahogany/black walnut/cherry and every wood known to man and many other different styles. What you see on this website is a drop in the bucket of the doors we have have made.
Customer Service
Nearly every door we have made a customer has drawn it up on a piece of paper. We have now made about 8000 doors and we are glad to take an inspiration door and tweak it the way you want. We do not charge an arm and a leg for making this custom. I need the rough opening/jamb width and we can make the jamb any size at no extra charge unless it is for a log cabin and 20". You get two sets of trim included in the price. I can get you a price immediately without you having to fill out paperwork and if you like it then I will write up a work order. We try to get your order done in 2 months but sometimes it can go three months. You can find your inspiration doors in the files I will send you or one you have found online. I can send you about fifty glass choices as well. ALL of our doors are exterior thickness even the interior doors and they are solid wood. No engineered wood no hollow core no veneers. Cut the door in half and it is the SOLID wood species you have ordered. The hardware you see on the door comes with the door but I also have files of the hardware our blacksmith makes. Our own driver delivers the doors nationwide to keep the doors from being damaged. We also have a professional finisher and we can talk about that when you call me about the door you want. We can do one door or whole house projects. Once we get the deposit we will assign your door to one of our carpenters who work here in San Diego in our shop.
Experience
We have about 40 years experience and all of our carpenters are vetted to do a really great job. On 8000 doors we have had a handful of times where there was a problem. We deliver our own doors because logistics companies have drivers that are not invested in you getting your door in perfect condition. We would rather pay someone we know is reliable and honest who will bring you your door in one piece. Doors are made here in San Diego and all of our hardware is made in Mexico by our own blacksmith we have used over 20 years. We get out glass at three different companies so lots of choices and we have a stained glass artist who can make anything out of stained glass for your doors or windows.
